Will love to discuss low metabolism and how to rectify it. One of the reasons some folks struggle with weight issues might be because they have low metabolism.
I have slow or low metabolism, and I have struggled with losing some weight. And I tell you, it’s a long process that requires patience and persistence, but there are also ways to speed up the metabolic rate of our body system, which has worked for me.
What is Metabolism
Metabolism can be defined as how calories are burned off by our body, which refers to how much energy is used up. When your body burns calories fast, it signifies the rate of how much weight you lose. So if you work out, have healthy eating habits, but you are not losing any pounds. Then probably low metabolism is the culprit.
A few sicknesses can cause some folks to lose or gain weight, mainly thyroid. Often, age might also play a role in low metabolism; when your body system functions at a slow rate, you will find it difficult to cut off calories and some pounds. It is primarily why people with low metabolism feel fatigued, are sluggish, and often have joint pains.
Another reason people can experience low metabolism is the body’s blood circulation. If your blood doesn’t circulate well, it can stall the process of burning energy. Depression also slows your metabolic rate. When you are moody, your body slows down as well. A thyroid problem, hypo, and hyperthyroidism can make you lose or gain weight even if you do not try to do so. People who suffer from thyroid problems can also experience and dry skin.

Green Tea is loaded with antioxidants too, which help boost the metabolism.
■ Chilli Pepper: This hot pepper derives its heat from an oily chemical compound called capsaicin, and it is located in the membranes surrounding the seed of the pepper. Capsaicin helps in boosting high metabolism by the function of thermogenesis which is a process by which our body burns calories into heat and uses it up as fuel. To make sure that you shed extra pounds with Chilli Pepper, you will have to watch what you eat by cutting down calories.
■ Whole Grains: It takes our body a lot of time and extant work to break down whole grains than processed foods. It will be good to keep your metabolic rate high by eating grains rich in fiber to make our body work harder to digest. Examples are oatmeal, quinoa, brown rice, etc.
